My Vidster.Youtube first appeared on Valentine's Day 2005 and completely changed the course of the Internet. Since then, it has established a precedent for how video sites are designed. That's because many of our favorite sites are based on the Youtube model. Come to think of it, even the most popular porn sites on the web, called porn "tube" sites, are designed to mimic Youtube.

Youtube was the first site to successfully integrate social media and video. Now sites like Porn Hub, Red Tube, and xHamster are using this same formula to provide a great pornographic experience. It is no longer enough for sites to simply host or link to videos. People expect to be able to comment on videos, "like" and "dislike" videos, create playlists, and easily share their favorite pornography with people around the world, partly due to Youtube.

I have my own opinions about Youtube's policies on censorship and copyright protection, but I say that where credit is due, credit must be given. youtube has contributed greatly to the world of online pornography, no matter how inadvertent that contribution may have been. youtube has changed the porn world.

There are so many Youtube copycat sites that it would make my head hurt to list them all. But some of them stand out; the best of the Youtube copycat sites are, of course, those that feature porn prominently alongside regular videos, with all the same features Youtube offers, just without the bullshit censorship that comes with it.

Myvidster.com is one of those sites that is smart enough to make a social video sharing and bookmarking site with porn. There is plenty of other content to browse. But who cares about that? We're all here for one reason and one reason only, so let's stop talking crap.

As a matter of fact, once you arrive at My Vidster, you literally have to cut through the crap. As soon as you open the site's home page, you will see that there is absolutely no pornography. It does not even vaguely resemble a porn site. Instead, as I said earlier, it will look like an off-brand Youtube. But don't worry, that can easily be remedied.

Look at the top right corner of the page. There you should see text with a blue hyperlink. There you will see "Safe Browsing." It's "On"; click "On" to turn off Safe Browsing and watch as a trendy, meme-inspired video magically transforms into hardcore pornography right before your eyes.

Now, you're all set. You are now free to browse all the porn videos that My Vidster users have deemed good enough to bookmark and share. Most of them are from familiar sources (Porn Hub and xHamster are popular), but you may occasionally find a new free porn site while browsing.

I believe the biggest advantage of such sites is that you can easily find new sources and studios without having to go out of your way to search for them. This is exactly why all porn sites should be social.

Cool idea, sloppy execution.

The site itself, however, is a bit cluttered and messy, which I don't like very much. It is one of those sites that tries to cram too much stuff on every page. There is no logical order to how or where things are displayed.

The videos are in the middle of the page, in a list format, but the list blends into the site description and is indistinguishable from the banners and search bar. I don't understand why people design their sites this way. Why not clearly designate the location of each part of the page?

So I don't like this presentation, but anyway, even if it took me a minute or two, it is easy to figure out what is what. Above the list of search results for the video I mentioned earlier, there is an overview of how to use this site." Collect your favorite videos from any website, social network, blog... Share and discuss your video collection with friends and the world... Explore and follow the video collections of friends and other users".

In other words, unlike Youtube, with My Vidster, you don't actually upload content, but simply appear to be publicly bookmarking embedded links to videos. So that's cool: ...... Less commitment and energy. have you ever uploaded a video to Youtube? It takes an awful lot of time.

To the right of the list of videos you will see several lists to help you browse the site. First, there is "Featured Collections," which seems to consist mostly of video collections from various popular porn studios.

Below that is a list of "Featured Groups," where you will find fun opportunities for interaction, such as "Incest, Keep it in the Fucking Family" and "Skype Jerk Off Group." You can find fun socializing opportunities such as "Incest: Keep it in the Fucking Family," "Skype Jerk Off Group," "Military Manlusters," and more. Apparently, there are a lot of homos on this site. You'll fit right in.

Next, you'll find a list of "Power User Collections," which are all about "Power User Collections. Finally, you will see a list of popular tags. Note: My suspicions have been confirmed. 'Gay' is the most popular tag on this site. But don't worry, there is also plenty of hetero porn. In fact, on My Vidster, you can easily switch content to gay-only, straight-only, or both... You can find whatever you like and not have to watch what you don't like.

Extensive Video Information and Features

My Vidster's media player is fine. Well, I should say it varies, since it handles embedded links. So when someone bookmarks and shares a video they found on Porn Hub, Porn Hub's media player is used for it. Below the video, there is a list of other videos in the same collection, a download button, and a comments section where you can choose your reaction: upvote, funny, like, surprised, angry, or sad. I kinda wish I could filter videos by reaction, because I'm very curious what kind of porn people responded "sad" to.

My Vidster also shows all the relevant information about the video. This is shown below and to the side. Here you can choose to click on the collection of that video, click on the direct source link, or click on the profile of the user who shared it. You can also see the date it was added to My Vidster, read the description if there is one, and copy the embedded link or URL (in case you are a true scumbag and want to share porn with your friends and family on Facebook...) In this case, you probably don't have any friends or family to talk to you in the first place, which is probably why you spend so much time masturbating to porn... (it's a vicious cycle).

In addition to sharing the video, you can add it to your own collection if you wish, or follow the collection from which it came. Clicking on the name of the user you shared with will take you to their profile, where you can see all the videos they have collected, or you can follow them directly. Users can earn points (though how points are earned remains a mystery), and it appears that badges can be earned over time.

My Vidster seems to draw inspiration from Youtube in another important way that I have not yet mentioned. The site is riddled with ads. And even worse, there is no escaping the ads. If you use an ad blocker, you can't even watch the videos. But it's really fucking bad. We're not just talking about ads in the margins, but taking up a significant portion of the page space.

This is obviously fucking annoying, but not surprisingly in the world of online porn. But you do offer a premium subscription service to get rid of the ads. However, there doesn't seem to be much else to be gained, so I doubt it's worth the money.

Overall, I like that MyVidster (often misnamed "myvister") is trying to bring back the Youtube model to create a more open and less censored Internet. An active user base is important for a site like this. However, I am not convinced by the design and advertising.

Also, the gay content seems pretty unavoidable (many collections feature it along with straight content) and it's not the best porn experience if you are a straight male. But if you don't mind that sort of thing, see for yourself.
